The Awoostria Story Department is large and covers lots of different creative roles. As such, coordinating everyone in the department and ensuring the delivery of a great final product at the convention is not an easy task. As deputy of the story department you will support the lead in bringing our vision of an interactive story experience to life, helping with producing epic media and interactive games for our furry convention!
Key responsibilities
Fill in for the department lead when he is unavailable
Be an active part of the story writing team, contributing to writing characters, dialogue, story integration into interactive games, etc.
Attend regular meetings with different volunteers from the story/other creative departments to coordinate about artworks, voice recordings, music, decorations, video editing, etc. needed for the final story product.
Actively contribute your experience/opinions about the feasibility/possible improvements/streamlining of the story plans.
Qualifications and Profile
Good organisational skills
Excitement about/interest in media production and nerdy storytelling
Ability and willingness to work with a diverse team
Ability to commit to decisions and plan ahead
Previous experience in writing is a great plus, especially fiction!
Time Commitment
The Story department is active all year, preparing the experience for the next convention. Therefore as deputy you should plan to commit a few hours most weeks of the year for organisational/writing meetings. An advantage is having more free time during the convention itself than many other volunteers! ;)
